I recently switched to Mandarin Blueprints as my primary method of learning mandarin. So far I'm blown away at the course structure and the approach they take to teaching mandarin (and teaching in general, tbh). https://www.mandarinblueprint.com/ They focus on three main components to effective fluency development: - comprehensible input - spaced repetition flashcards - elaborate mnemonic memory palace techniques I've never come across any kind of educational program that so effectively integrates these powerful learning techniques into the core of the curriculum. This type of course structure goes far beyond language learning and I hope we see this kind of approach more broader across all sorts of learning environments (including higher ed) It's sad thinking about how inefficient and ineffective so many of our school systems are at promoting and guiding deep knowledge acquisition for students. So much lost intellectual potential of entire populations.
