Colchicine capsules are indicated for prophylaxis of gout flares in adults. They are not an analgesic medication and should not be used to treat pain from other causes. The safety and effectiveness of the capsules for acute treatment of acute treatment has not been studied. They should be used only for proprophylactic treatment of the gout flare-ups in adult patients.
