Bioschemas aims to improve data interoperability in the life sciences. It does this by encouraging the use of Schema.org markup within web pages, so that their websites and services contain machine-processable metadata that is consistently structured. This structured information makes it easier to discover, collate and analyse distributed data. As well as extending Schema.org with life sciences specific types, the Bioschemas community has developed a group of specifications that provide guidelines to facilitate a more consistent adoption of Schema.org markup within the life sciences.
