EISCAT data are the property of the EISCAT Scientific Association. Use is granted according to the EISCAT Statutes (Blue Book) rules. In summary, embargo rules apply to data at low levels for Common Programme (CP) (L1 and L2 data), whereas analysed CP data (L3) are open for use. In the case of Special Programme (SP), the embargo is more prolonged for L1 and L2 data and also applies to analysed (L3) data. Metadata is generally open for use. Users are kindly requested to contact the Association before publishing data and also to add the following Acknowledgement to all publications: 'EISCAT is an international association supported by research organisations in China (CRIRP), Finland (SA), Japan (NIPR and ISEE), Norway (NFR), Sweden (VR), and the United Kingdom (UKRI)'. Allowed usage of the data is summarised in the Rules of the Road. Data and metadata are stored indefinitely.
